Vapeboss – A terror incident recently struck a vape and tobacco shop in Galena Park, Texas, on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Galena Park is a city in Harris County, Texas, United States, within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area, with a population of 10,740 according to the 2020 census.
The incident began when 2 masked men reportedly entered the Vape House and threw a firebomb, which quickly engulfed the carpeted store in flames. The bomb was a homemade device, often referred to as a Molotov cocktail, made with a bottle filled with gasoline or other flammable liquid. As they left, they blocked the front door and immediately set it on fire. Not only that, but they also threatened to trap any employees still inside the store.
Fortunately, an employee named Merlyn Rodrigues managed to escape by kicking open the door to avoid the flames. Merlyn stated, "Two guys walked out, and they had gloves on, he pulled something out of his back, and he threw it hard."
"Two guys walked out, and they had gloves on, he pulled something out of his back, and he threw it hard," Merlyn said.
"I didn't have a single scratch on my body when I walked out. It's unbelievable. It's just a miracle. Only God can do that," she added.
Strangely, the two terrorists did not attempt to steal any items or cash. The owner of Vape House, Sami Durrani, said he "doesn't know who is behind the arson attack, but I'm sure they had a target."
Merlyn was also puzzled, she couldn't understand why anyone would do such a thing, and what their motive was to do it even at the risk of their lives. The incident caused significant losses for the owner, Sami Durrani. He lost more than $100,000, or about 1.5 billion Rupiah, just for his products, and he might be forced to close his business.
Sami Durrani has been running his business since 2021. He said he has never had problems with customers or anyone in the community. Due to the severe impact of the terrorist act on Durrani's business, the owner needs a lot of money to restart his business from scratch. There is even a possibility that he will close his business.
"The condition is dire," Durrani said. "I need a lot of money to restart this business and I don't think I can do it right now. All I want to know is why they did this," he concluded.
To uncover the perpetrators of the terror, the Galena Park Police Department is working with the Harris County Fire Marshal and the ATF to investigate the fire that occurred at a vape shop last weekend. Investigators are still in the process of reviewing CCTV footage from when the incident occurred.
