Vapeboss – Bogor Mayor, Arya Sugiarto, has implemented a ban on smoking and vaping in public places. He stated that restaurants and cafes are the two areas that have the most difficulty complying with these regulations.

Bima Arya constantly asks the public to continue to improve discipline so that all enclosed areas do not engage in smoking or vaping activities.

When met by reporters after opening a development planning meeting in Central Bogor District on Wednesday morning (25/1/2023), Bima revealed that the level of public compliance in implementing the Smoke-Free Zones (KTR) in Bogor City was already quite good.

In effect since 2009, citizen discipline in adhering to these rules has been increasing daily. However, Bima Arya stated that there are still public places that are less disciplined, such as restaurants and cafes.

"What is still a concern for us is that it's still difficult in restaurants. In public places, the rules are already being followed," said Bima.

The implementation of KTR itself was initiated in 2009 when Diani Budiarto served as Mayor of Bogor. Over time, the KTR regional regulation continued to be refined until 2019, when the KTR regulation was expanded to include vaping.

The prohibition of such products is also regulated in all offices and public institutions such as educational facilities, sports facilities, hospitals, city parks, and enclosed offices. However, residents are still allowed to smoke in open public places with certain rules.

"Vaping is also prohibited," he added.

According to Bima Arya, public discipline continues to grow, so residents are becoming more orderly each day. Violations of this KTR regional regulation still occur in restaurants and cafes.
