Vapeboss – RELX International Indonesia has partnered with waste management company Armada Kemasan to collaborate on managing electronic cigarette waste under the theme "Waste Collecting Pilot Indonesia 2023." This aligns with the company's commitment to people and the environment in conducting its business.
Through this program, RELX provides special boxes for collecting cartridges, devices, and other RELX products for recycling. These boxes will be available at 12 RELX outlet locations in the Greater Jakarta area. The launch of this program was first announced at the Jakarta Fair (PRJ) at Ji Expo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Friday (June 23).
General Manager of RELX International Indonesia, Yudhistira Eka Saputra, stated that his company consistently contributes to improving the quality of life for the community and the environment where RELX operates. He added that throughout its supply chain, RELX actively involves many parties, from distributors to consumers, in implementing the Waste Collecting program even before its official launch.
"RELX understands that a green environment is a valuable resource closely linked to the sustainability of RELX's business. This commitment is highlighted through the RELX Pledge via the Green Shoot program. It is hoped that this program can reach a wide audience for the sake of environmental cleanliness and preservation," he said.
The launch of this Waste Collecting program is an active demonstration of RELX's compliance with Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Environmental Protection and Management and Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 6 of 2021 concerning Procedures and Requirements for the Management of Hazardous and Toxic Waste.
In collaboration with waste management company Armada Kemasan, all collected e-cigarette waste will be processed according to the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Managing Director of PT Armada Kemasan Nusantara, Arnold Abdi, said that through this collaboration, both parties can share experiences with a new industry, namely electronic cigarettes.
Armada Kemasan is a company engaged in waste processing, recycled products, and environmental education for 10 years.
