Vapeboss – Actor and producer Vin Diesel stated that spin-offs from the Fast & Furious franchise are in production, including a film featuring a female lead.
"I started developing a female spin-off in 2017 with other spin-offs, and the sooner I deliver the finale, the sooner I can launch all the spin-offs," Vin Diesel said at Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) Block Party, as reported by Variety on Tuesday (23/5/2023).
"Fast X is the first of a two-part finale, but it's bittersweet to think about the end," Diesel continued.
On May 12, 2023, in an interview in Rome, Vin Diesel mentioned that the end of Fast & Furious would be divided into three films.
"Look at how many great characters and talents are in that movie. There's no way I could do that unless I activated everyone for five seconds. These characters are compelling, and we need to see more of them," Vin Diesel said.
Fast X features the surprising comeback of Gisele (Gal Gadot) and Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson).
Vin Diesel expressed his delight at the return of Gisele and Hobbs' characters.
Meanwhile, Michelle Rodriguez is unsure if she will be present for the spin-off film.
"You pass the baton. You sit in the backseat. You go to the passenger side. When the next generation comes, you have to (stop). It's the only way to let them define the future," Rodriguez said.
Diesel and Rodriguez attended the CTAOP charity event, which helped raise over 900,000 US dollars for organizations supporting the health, education, and safety of young people in South Africa.
Meanwhile, Fast X premiered in Indonesian cinemas on May 17, 2023.
