Vapeboss - The Chairman of the Indonesian Personal Vaporizer Association (APVI), Aryo Andrianto, asserted that alternative tobacco products such as e-cigarettes, nicotine pouches, and heated tobacco are exclusively for adult smokers. The reason is that these products serve as an option for adult smokers to switch from their habits.

Therefore, Aryo emphasized that the association remains committed to preventing children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and non-smokers from accessing alternative tobacco products.

"All associations are obliged to educate the public so that the use of alternative tobacco products is targeted correctly," said Aryo.

Aryo continued, adding that his organization will also continue to conduct outreach to educate the public. This is aimed at ensuring that alternative tobacco products are more accurately targeted and to prevent misuse.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for APVI, Rhomedal Aquino, confirmed this. The association will consistently engage in outreach and campaigns to prohibit the sale of alternative tobacco products to children under 18 years old.

One form of their campaign is the installation of posters, stickers, and 18+ socialisation materials in all stores under the APVI's umbrella.

In addition, APVI also educates and urges its employees to firmly refuse customers who do not meet the criteria, and they are also asked to carefully check customers.

Rhomedal hopes that other associations will also actively participate in campaigns and socialisation to prevent the misuse of these alternative tobacco products. His organization will also firmly act against association members who violate these agreements and rules, Rhomedal added.

This campaign and socialisation are also supported by the Chairman of the Indonesian Vapers Alliance (AVI), Johan Sumantri. As a consumer representative, Johan encourages all his members to disseminate information regarding these provisions and rules.

Johan stated that his organization is ready to join the campaign to prohibit the use of alternative tobacco products by children under 18 years old.
