Hello Big Boss!! How are you today? Hope you're always healthy, your sustenance is abundant, and all your activities are made easy!
Currently, the e-cigarette industry worldwide continues to develop significantly, both in innovation and technological breakthroughs. From this, e-cigarettes now have devices that are divided into open system and closed system vapes.
Hokkop Situngkir, as the chairman of KONVO (Organized Vape Community), explained the differences between these two types of vapes. The clear difference lies in the refill mechanism for e-liquid, where in an open system, users can refill with their preferred e-liquid, but a closed system does not support e-liquid refills (if it runs out, it's discarded immediately).
Open system vapes tend to be cheaper and more flexible for user needs. This includes durability, a wider selection of e-liquids, coils, vapor thickness, and battery power. Closed systems, on the other hand, do not yet have these features, apart from recharging power.
"For consumers who expect freedom, flexibility, and affordable prices, choosing an Open System device is a good option. This device also offers significant advantages for users because it provides a very varied and changeable range of flavors," said Hokkop.
With an open system vape, consumers will be more assured in customizing the e-liquid flavor from the many e-liquids on the market and will not need to spend more because the price is relatively cheap. Nevertheless, manual e-liquid refilling by consumers does not rule out potential risks.
“Besides the content of e-liquid products that may not meet standards, if consumers mix one, two, or even several flavors at once, there is also a risk that the contained levels may not be safe, and the taste might be delicious or completely unpalatable,” added Hokkop.
Compared to open systems, closed system vapes will provide a different sensation. By using a closed system vape, user safety will be more assured because the content and e-liquid filling process are officially carried out by the manufacturer.
Although they may not fully meet user preferences, the manufacturers of closed system vapes certainly guarantee quality. They also offer a variety of flavors that adapt to market tastes, so consumers don't need to worry if they can't find a suitable flavor.
“Closed systems are actually more exclusive, although they are a bit more expensive. It's like we're paying more for the safety and quality of the product we consume. Closed system devices also tend to be more practical to use; there's no need to bother replacing coils or refilling the e-liquid tank, making them suitable for consumers with a simple lifestyle,” explained Hokkop.
