Vapeboss – An employee with the initials CA, allegedly experienced sexual harassment perpetrated by one of her colleagues at a vape liquid company in Bandung City. The case went viral after a close friend of the victim, Farah Mauludynna, uploaded the chronology to her Instagram account @mauludynna.

In addition to defending and speaking up about the incident that befell the victim in her highlighted Instagram stories, Farah also embedded a file containing CA's written account of the complete event from start to finish.

"I am the victim described by the Instagram account @mauludynna, and I am not ready to reveal my identity regarding the incident I experienced at my former workplace," read the opening of the file, quoted Friday, April 14, 2023.

"I experienced sexual harassment on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at around 5:30 PM WIB, before the work operational hours ended at 6:00 PM WIB. The location was in the workspace occupied by staff from the Creative & Media Department. When the incident occurred, there were 3 (three) other people in the same room as me and the perpetrator," she added.

Then, the perpetrator, with the initials EE, approached the victim and bit the victim's neck. The startled victim screamed and resisted. However, the perpetrator parried her and cornered the victim by pushing her towards the toilet to get her away from the CCTV's reach.

"Until I was cornered, and I was trapped in front of the toilet door, which was open, as he was leading me into that toilet."

According to the victim, when the harassment occurred, she had cried for help, but no one paid attention, and the victim continued to resist until she managed to break free from the perpetrator.

Two weeks after the incident, the victim still worked as usual and met with the perpetrator, but the perpetrator showed no remorse for his actions. It is known that the perpetrator held a fairly high position in the company.

Then, on Thursday, March 30, 2023, the victim submitted her resignation letter to the company. However, the company's HR department continued to complicate the process and even cornered the victim via WhatsApp chat. To this day, the victim is still being asked to come to work by the company via email.

Currently, CA is still recovering. She hopes that what she has written can be a source of strength for other victims of sexual harassment in the workplace. This case has also been reported by CA to the police with report number LP/B/392/IV/2023/SPKT/Polrestabes Bandung/Polda Jawa Barat. The police are investigating this case by requesting statements from several related parties.
