PAVINAS VAPE REGULATIONS and its affiliated Associations.

Hello Vapers, here is news about the regulations conveyed by representatives of the Associations. Make sure you listen to and read this news until the end, because the content of this news is very important and must be obeyed by you Vapers.

The National Vape Association Community (PAVINAS) is pushing for regulations on the misuse of alternative tobacco products by underage individuals. The implementation of age limit regulations is absolutely necessary. They continue to strive for these products to only be sold to adults.

Johan Sumantri, as the chairman of AVI (Indonesian Vaper Alliance), stated, "As an industry association, we at the National Vape Association Community understand the concerns related to the misuse of alternative tobacco products and their use by underage individuals, and together we are committed to preventing this."

The National Vape Association Community also oversees four vape associations in Indonesia, namely, the Indonesian Vaper Alliance (AVI), the Indonesian Personal Vaporizer Association (APVI), the Indonesian Electronic Nicotine Delivery System Entrepreneurs Association (APPNINDO), and the Bali Vaporizer Association (AVB).

All members have committed to upholding the code of ethics in the Indonesian vape industry. It is hoped that in the future, this industry will be responsible and have integrity.

The six codes of ethics they agreed upon include:

First, vape products are not to be used, sold, or given to children under 18 years old, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

Second, vape products are only to be used to reduce more severe health risks for their users.

Third, ensuring accurate and clear information on product content ingredients on labels and packaging.

Fourth, protecting the industry from the misuse of narcotics and other illicit drugs.

Fifth, PAVINAS emphasizes not conducting promotional activities targeted at children under 18 years old.

Lastly, they ensure the prevention of use by individuals who were not previously smokers.

I Gde Agus Mahartika from AVB stated, "Transparency and honesty in doing business in this field are highly emphasized because the public needs to know accurate facts about vapes." This emphasizes that this commitment requires a lot of support, especially from the government, academics, business partners, and vape product users.

Meanwhile, the representative from APVI, Aryo Andrianto, asked producers and importers to comply with regulations related to vape products in Indonesia. This includes discipline in paying excise duties and protecting the industry from the misuse of narcotics and other illicit drugs. Aryo also added that as a new industry born from tobacco product innovation, vape products should be comprehensively regulated based on evidence, similar to the approach taken by the UK and New Zealand. These two countries remain committed to regulating alternative tobacco products.

"As a new industry, we in the Community realize that there is still a long way to go to achieve these goals," Aryo stated firmly.

Appreciation was given to the Ministry of Industry. So far, they have begun discussions on the draft Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for heated tobacco products. This also includes alternative nicotine products and parts of Other Tobacco Processing Products (HPTL).

As a representative of APPNINDO, Roy Lefrans hopes that the step taken by the Ministry of Industry is to provide an opportunity for the National Vape Association Community to be involved in the SNI discussion. So that in the future, the government can make policies to ensure business certainty and proper consumer protection.

Roy also explained, "The National Vape Association Community always follows the directives from the Ministry of Industry and is ready to continue further discussions on the draft SNI for vape products in 2021."

This concludes the news about the commitment of the Vape Associations in Indonesia. Hopefully, this news can increase your insight, Vapers in Indonesia, and encourage you to follow the applicable rules.
