Indonesian tobacco cigarette producer, Bentoel, is partnering with a Chinese vape company to start building factories and producing e-cigarettes or vapes. Thomas Christian, Director of PT Bentoel Internasional Investama Tbk, stated that his company is collaborating with Smoore so that their e-cigarette products can enter the international market.

"So (the factory) in Indonesia is intended for export abroad; that is the main goal," said Thomas.

According to Thomas, the potential for the e-cigarette business in Indonesia is quite good at the moment. Compared to the tobacco industry as a whole, their scale is relatively small. Therefore, he admitted that he would continue to monitor the development of the e-cigarette industry in the country.

In addition to the domestic market, Bentoel is also focused on expanding its market abroad. This is evident from Bentoel exporting its products to 23 countries with a value of 2.7 trillion.

"For prospects, we are trying to improve the quality and efficiency of Bentoel Group as an export hub, overall and with competitive prices," he explained.
