This position is based on deliberate falsehoods, not facts, as they refuse to acknowledge a large body of independent peer-reviewed scientific evidence that clearly shows vaping is at least 95% safer than smoking.

This will put many smokers at risk of not being able to choose safer alternatives and could force millions who have successfully switched to less harmful nicotine products back to something that will cause many health risks and ultimately kill them.

"Stop lying to us and provide evidence based on strong scientific facts, methodologies and principles," said the Coalition of Asia Pacific Tobacco Harm Reduction Advocates (CAPHRA) and other groups who launched the Right2Switch petition.

Nancy Loucas (CAPHRA executive coordinator) said that the petition was launched ahead of the biennial meeting of the WHO Framework Convention of Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC), to raise issues regarding the WHO's counterproductive stance.
