Vapeboss – Recently, cases of motor vehicle theft have been on the rise in various regions of Indonesia. A similar theft recently occurred at the Wisma Asri vape shop in Teluk Pucung, North Bekasi, where the incident, which affected a customer, was captured on CCTV.
Shop attendant Aji Santoso said the incident began when a customer came to the shop, parked their motorcycle, and went in to buy vape supplies. A few minutes later, they came out and found their motorcycle missing.
"The customer came to buy a pod and liquid, and their transaction only took a moment, about 5 minutes. They looked away for a bit, and it was gone, taken by someone," said Aji.
From the CCTV footage, there were two perpetrators. One of the perpetrators was seen driving away a red Honda Beat motorcycle, while the other helped push the motorcycle away from the location by "stut" (a method of pushing a motorcycle with one's foot while riding another).
"There were two people, based on what's visible on CCTV. They also brought a motorcycle, and the victim's motorcycle was pushed away by the perpetrator," he explained.
Aji added that the victim allegedly forgot to double-lock their vehicle. Because the victim's motorcycle handlebar was not locked, it was easier for the perpetrators to carry out their act.
"The victim also did not lock the handlebar of their vehicle, so it was quickly taken by the perpetrators. Even if it was only left for a short time, it should have been double-locked as a precaution," Aji added.
Aji mentioned that motor vehicle theft at this vape shop has happened twice; the first time, it happened to his own vehicle.
"It has happened twice, three weeks apart. The first time, it was my own motorcycle, and I've already reported it (to the police)," he concluded.
