Are you Vapers who use mod devices? You must also use RDAs. In your RDA, you definitely need coils to vape.
So, what if the coil gets damaged or burnt quickly? The answer is that you have to regularly maintain your coil, and one of them is to clean your coil regularly.
Cleaning coils has become a mandatory ritual for vapers, but some are still mistaken in its application, especially for prebuilt coil types. Many vapers complain that after cleaning, it tastes less good and burns quickly.
However, after further observation, it turned out that the outer wire was damaged, and hot spots appeared (black spots attached to the coil).
Actually, this damage is caused by the wire brush. It should be noted that the sharpness of the wire brush can damage and even break the outer wire network if you use a prebuilt coil.
What is a Prebuilt Coil?
Prebuilt coils (alien, fused, Clapton, etc.) consist of several layers of wire, namely the outer wire and the inner wire. The outer wire has a finer wire size than the inner wire.
Therefore, you need to give special treatment when cleaning your prebuilt coil.
How to Clean a Prebuilt Coil
You already know what a prebuilt coil is. So, here's how to clean a prebuilt wire properly:
- Remove the cotton from the coil
- Brush the wire surface with a toothbrush (do not use a wire brush) until the residue/crust comes off
- Use a round brush (not a sharp wire brush) to clean the inside of the coil
- Dry burn for 1 second with minimal power (2.5 volts – 3.0 volts) then dip it in water and brush gently again
- After cooling, dry it with tissue
- Dry burn again to ensure there are no hot spots
- Once the coil is confirmed to be clean, you can directly wick it
For your information, for regular wire, do as the steps above, but only a wire brush is allowed.
Some of you might still be asking, is it safe to dry burn and dip it in water? Of course, it is SAFE! As long as the power is low and it's not SS304, Nickel, and Titanium wire types.
If you feel that the above method is less efficient or complicated. There is a simpler way to clean the coil, which is by using a coil cleaning liquid such as Goes’T Cleaner.
With this liquid, just spray it on the coil, wait for 3 minutes, then dry it with a tissue and finish with a dry burn, and you don't need to dip it in water.
